New Product Announcement
Restore Blade & Bit Cleaner
We are delighted to introduce our new Restore Blade & Bit Cleaner. Over the years we have had many requests from professionals and amateurs, for a fast working pitch and resin remover. We have addressed this need and produced a water based, biodegradable product which works fast - very fast! Unlike products which are hydrocarbon based there is no detrimental effect associated with the transfer of the cleaner to the timber being processed. As many will know, there is a move away from solvent based paint systems to more environmentally friendly water based products. The problem is that the presence of any hydrocarbon on the timber will spoil water based paint finishes. For this reason we have gone down the route of producing a water based cleaner. The product is available in 500ml plastic bottles supplied with a separate trigger head spray. It can also be supplied in 25 litre kegs for industrial use.
There are at present only a few stockists who have supplies of this brand new product. It can be purchased online from Workshop Heaven, The Turners Toolbox and Tilgear. Or alternatively online from Shield Technology.biz For 25 litre kegs please contact Shield Technology directly.

Restore Rust Remover faces its biggest challenge so far. A colleague brought in a Stanley No 5 plane that had been left out over winter in a shed that had partially collapsed. As you can see from the photograph below, the Plane looked as though it had been dragged up off the sea bed! However, the rust was completely removed in approximately 5 hours. It should be pointed out that the photographs have NOT been digitally enhanced or altered in any way.

Imperial War Museum - Duxford tests ToolGuard VCI
Europe's premier aviation museum has tested and evaluated ToolGuard VCI under extreme conditions with outstanding results. Under the direction of Chris Knapp, Conservation Manager at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, ToolGuard VCI has been evaluated protecting ferrous metals at up 100% relative humidity with outstanding results. The tests conducted over a period of 5 months showed that test specimens protected with ToolGuard VCI showed no signs of corrosion. The control specimen (unprotected) is completely corroded showing severe pitting. Photographs below are reproduced here with kind permission of Chris Knapp IWM.
