This month sees the start of a new competition
Following the highly successful introduction of Restore Rust Remover, we are being contacted by customers who have found many diverse and interesting applications for the product than we had originally thought possible. Restoration of wood and metalworking tools is a regular application. An extreme example of what can be achieved with Restore Rust Remover can be seen below. We have customers who are restoring farm machinery - both new and antique, arms and armour restorers, museum conservators, classic car and motorcycle restorers, gunsmiths and clock restorers to name just a few.
What we would like to know is what are you using Restore Rust Remover for? either the liquid version or the gelled product. If you think you have an interesting story to tell and a few pictures that might interest others - preferably 'before and after', please email me with a brief 'story' and a couple of photographs.
We will build up a 'library' of photographs and information over the coming months so that others can see what can be achieved with Restore Rust Remover.
Because it is a competition there has to be a prize! The photograph/application that is judged the most interesting will receive Shield Technology products and the winning photograph will feature on the News page of the website each month.

Restore Rust Remover faces its biggest challenge so far. A colleague brought in a Stanley No 5 plane that had been left out over winter in a shed that had partially collapsed. As you can see from the photograph below, the Plane looked as though it had been dragged up off the sea bed! However, the rust was completely removed in approximately 5 hours. To see larger pictures and to see how it was achieved click here. It should be pointed out that the photographs have NOT been digitally enhanced or altered in any way.
Imperial War Museum - Duxford tests ToolGuard VCI
Europes premier aviation museum has tested and evaluated ToolGuard VCI under extreme conditions with outstanding results. Under the direction of Chris Knapp, Conservation Manager at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, ToolGuard VCI has been evaluated protecting ferrous metals at up 100% relative humidity with outstanding results. The tests conducted over a period of 5 months showed that test specimens protected with ToolGuard VCI showed no signs of corrosion. The control specimen (unprotected) is completely corroded showing severe pitting. Photographs below are reproduced here with kind permission of Chris Knapp IWM.
